Getting Started
What is the OB Supply Contract Tracker?

The OB Supply Contract Tracker is a government contracting tool built specifically for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). It automatically pulls contracts from SAM.gov that match your NAICS codes, scores each opportunity based on how well it fits your business, and gives you one-click tools to generate quotes and capability statements.

The tracker updates daily at midnight UTC with new postings from the previous 90 days.

How do I set up my NAICS codes?

Go to Settings → NAICS Codes. Search by keyword (e.g. "janitorial supplies") or enter a 6-digit code directly. The tracker will filter contracts to only show opportunities in those categories.

Common codes for MRO/supply businesses: 423830 (Industrial Supplies), 423840 (Industrial Machinery), 339113 (PPE), 453210 (Office Supplies).

What is an SDVOSB set-aside?

SDVOSB (Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business) set-asides are government contracts reserved exclusively for businesses owned by service-disabled veterans. Only SDVOSB-certified companies can compete for these contracts.

Set-asides mean less competition — instead of competing with every company in America, you're only competing with other SDVOSBs. Win rates are significantly higher.

How does the 14-day free trial work?

You get full access to every feature for 14 days — no credit card required to start. On day 3, day 7, and day 13, you'll receive an email with tips on how to use the tracker effectively.

If you don't upgrade before your trial ends, you'll be redirected to the pricing page. Your data (NAICS codes, contract statuses, past performance) is saved and restored when you subscribe.

Finding Contracts
How does the contract feed work?

The tracker queries SAM.gov's public API daily at midnight UTC and caches the results. When you load the dashboard, it serves from that cache — this keeps SAM.gov API usage within limits and gives you fast load times.

The feed shows up to 100 contracts per NAICS code you have saved, covering the past 90 days.

What do the contract types mean?
  • Solicitation — Active bid opportunity. Submit a quote by the deadline.
  • Sources Sought — Market research notice. The agency is gauging industry interest before issuing a formal solicitation. No bid required, but responding gets you noticed.
  • Pre-Solicitation — Coming soon. The agency has announced a future contract. Prepare your quote materials now.
  • Award Notice — Already awarded to another contractor. Useful for competitor research and understanding what agencies buy.
  • Special Notice — Miscellaneous agency announcements (industry days, amendments, etc.).
How do I filter contracts?

Use the filter bar above the contract table:

  • NAICS — Multi-select to show one or more specific codes.
  • Set-aside — Filter by your eligible set-aside types (SDVOSB, VOSB, etc.).
  • Max $ — Cap results by contract value.
  • Type — Filter by notice type (Solicitation, Sources Sought, etc.).
  • Status — Show contracts you've tagged as Interested, Quoted, etc.
  • Search — Free-text search across title and agency name.
How often does the feed update?

The cache refreshes automatically every night at midnight UTC (8 PM Eastern). New contracts posted to SAM.gov before midnight will appear in your tracker the following morning.

You can also trigger a manual refresh using the refresh button (↺) in the top right.

Bid Score
What is the Bid Score?

The Bid Score is an AI-powered number from 0–100 that estimates how well a specific contract matches your business. It helps you quickly prioritize which contracts are worth pursuing without reading every one in detail.

How is the score calculated?

Five factors are scored and combined:

  • NAICS Match (25 pts) — Exact match = 25, same 4-digit sector = 10.
  • Set-Aside Type (20 pts) — SDVOSB = 20, VOSB = 18, Small Business = 10, Unrestricted = 5.
  • Dollar Value Fit (20 pts) — How well the contract size matches your revenue range in settings.
  • Past Performance (20 pts) — Agency or NAICS overlap with your logged past performance.
  • Response Time (15 pts) — More than 14 days = 15, 7–14 days = 10, 3–7 days = 5.
What does Green / Yellow / Red mean?
  • Green (70–100) — Strong match. Bid this contract.
  • Yellow (40–69) — Moderate match. Review carefully before committing resources.
  • Red (0–39) — Low probability of success. Skip or deprioritize.
How do I improve my score?
  • Add more NAICS codes in Settings to match more categories.
  • Log your Past Performance contracts — each entry with an agency or NAICS match adds up to 20 points.
  • Set your revenue range in Settings so the value fit calculation is accurate.
  • Focus on contracts with 14+ days remaining — tight deadlines lower the score.
Price Intelligence
What is Price Intelligence?

Price Intelligence shows historical award data for contracts similar to the one you're viewing. You'll see the median award amount, the competitive range (25th–75th percentile), the average award, and the most frequent winning contractors.

Where does the data come from?

All data comes from USASpending.gov, the official public database of federal contract awards. The tracker looks at contracts awarded in the last 24 months with the same NAICS code as the contract you're viewing.

How should I use it when pricing my quote?

Use the competitive range (P25–P75) as your target zone. Coming in near the median gives you the best chance of winning while maintaining a reasonable margin.

Coming in significantly above P75 usually loses. Coming in below P25 may trigger a "too good to be true" review. Aim for the middle 50%.

Why does it sometimes show "Limited data"?

This appears when fewer than 5 contracts were awarded in that NAICS code over the last 24 months. The data shown is still accurate, but ranges are less statistically reliable with small samples. Use it as a rough guide rather than a precise benchmark.

Quote Generator
How do I generate a quote?

Click the Quote button on any contract row. The generator opens pre-filled with the contract title, agency, NAICS code, and deadline. Add your line items (description, quantity, unit price), and the tool calculates totals automatically. When ready, download a professional PDF quote.

What is TAA compliance and why does it matter?

The Trade Agreements Act (TAA) requires that products sold to the federal government be manufactured in or substantially transformed in the U.S. or a TAA-designated country. Non-compliant products (like those made in China) cannot be sold on most federal contracts.

The quote generator includes a TAA compliance checkbox. Always verify your products' country of origin before submitting.

Can I save quotes?

Currently quotes are downloaded as PDF immediately. Saved draft functionality is on the roadmap. In the meantime, save your downloaded PDF and the browser tab URL to return to a contract later.

How do I submit a quote to the government?

After downloading your PDF quote, return to SAM.gov and click the contract's official link to find submission instructions. Most small contracts use email submission to the contracting officer's address listed in the solicitation. Larger contracts may require submission through the SAM.gov e-offer portal.

Capability Statement
What is a capability statement?

A capability statement is a one-page marketing document for government contracting. It summarizes your company's core competencies, differentiators, past performance, company data (CAGE code, UEI, NAICS codes), and contact information. Think of it as a government-specific business card.

When do I need one?

Bring it to any networking event, industry day, or contracting office visit. Attach it to Sources Sought responses. Send it proactively to contracting officers in your target agencies. Many contracting officers request it before a solicitation drops.

How do I generate mine?

Go to Cap Statement in the nav bar. Fill in your company details, core competencies, and differentiators. The AI assistant can help you write compelling differentiator bullets. Download as a professionally formatted PDF when done.

Sources Sought
What is a Sources Sought notice?

A Sources Sought is a market research notice published before a formal solicitation. The agency is asking: "Who out there can do this work?" They use responses to determine whether to set the contract aside for small businesses, SDVOSBs, etc.

Should I respond even if I can't win the contract?

Yes, always respond. Responding to a Sources Sought does not commit you to bidding. The benefits are significant:

  • You get on the contracting officer's radar before the solicitation drops.
  • Your response can influence whether the contract is set aside for SDVOSBs.
  • If enough SDVOSBs respond, the agency may restrict competition to your category.
  • It costs 15–30 minutes with the tracker's one-click response tool.
How do I respond using the tracker?

Click the Respond button on any Sources Sought contract row. The tracker opens the Sources Sought response tool pre-filled with your company details and NAICS codes. Fill in your specific capabilities, edit as needed, and download the formatted response to email to the contracting officer.

Past Performance
Why does past performance matter?

For contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold (~$250K), contracting officers almost always evaluate past performance. Having documented, relevant contracts in the same NAICS code or with the same agency significantly increases your chance of winning.

How do I log my contracts?

Go to Performance in the nav bar. Add each contract with the agency name, NAICS code, award amount, period of performance, and a brief description. The more detail you add, the better your Bid Score will match relevant opportunities.

How does it affect my Bid Score?

Past Performance contributes up to 20 points to the Bid Score. If you have a contract with the same agency = 20 pts. Same NAICS code = 10 pts. Any logged government experience = 5 pts. No logged performance = 0 pts.

Deadline Calendar
How does the calendar work?

When you mark any contract as Interested or Quoted in the tracker, it automatically creates an entry in your deadline calendar with the response due date. Go to Calendar to see all your upcoming deadlines in one place.

How do I get email reminders?

Email reminders are sent automatically at 7 days and 2 days before each deadline for contracts you've marked as Interested or Quoted. Make sure your alert email is set in Settings → Alert Settings.

Can I add custom deadlines?

Currently the calendar is populated automatically from contracts you track. Manual deadline entry is on the roadmap. For now, mark any contract as Interested to add it to the calendar even if you haven't formally quoted yet.

AI Assistant
What can the AI assistant help with?
  • Explaining FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) clauses
  • SDVOSB certification requirements and the VA verification process
  • Writing capability statement bullets and past performance descriptions
  • TAA compliance for specific products
  • How to respond to Sources Sought notices
  • Subcontracting and teaming strategies
  • GSA Schedule questions
  • Any government contracting question
Is it specific to government contracting?

Yes — the AI assistant is specifically configured for federal government contracting, with an emphasis on SDVOSB requirements, FAR regulations, and the day-to-day challenges of small defense/supply contractors. It has deep knowledge of the VA SDVOSB verification process, SAM.gov registration, and the simplified acquisition process.

How do I get the best answers?

Be specific. Instead of "how do I win contracts," try "I'm an SDVOSB MRO supplier — what's the best way to respond to a Sources Sought for janitorial supplies at a VA medical center?" The more context you give, the more targeted the answer.

Account & Billing
How do I change my NAICS codes?

Go to Settings → NAICS Codes. Add codes by keyword search or direct entry, remove by clicking ×, then click Save. The tracker will use the new codes on the next refresh.

How do I upgrade or cancel my plan?

Go to Pricing to upgrade, or visit the Billing Portal to manage your subscription, update payment method, or cancel. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period.

Where do I manage my billing?

Click Manage Plan in the top navigation, or go to Settings → Subscription → Billing Portal. You can update your credit card, download invoices, and manage your subscription all in one place.
